THESIS
When the DADT policy was announced in 1993 by president Bill Clinton, there was an uproar by people across the nation. How would this help the military? This is discrimination. This is completely outrageous and really unneccessary. The policy triggered court cases and in those cases, it was stated that the policy violated the first and fifth amendments, restricting their freedom of speech and action. In 2011, Barack Obama repealed the policy in hopes of increasing the number of bodies serving in the military and bringing justice to the light.
